Too loud?

Yesterday, a woman who rides the work shuttle I take, told me that my voice was loud when I talk on the cell phone to my mom. The fact I didn't punch her out shows that I have evolved if not a bit. But then I wondered if it was racially motitivated, was she trying to tell me what to do because I'm a black woman.

Or maybe I'm just too loud.

This is my first post here. Don't know what else to say. I'm from NYC where I've lived all of my 48 years and I'm on live journal, myspace and facebook, so too much free time on my hands, I know.
